Nainital Diaries: Whimsical Winter Sun

Sorry for the delay in posting the last part of the series y'all! But I have exciting things going on in my life right now. But more on that on the next post (Hint, it involves a foreign country! )

Back to this outfit post in the gorgeous Garden Valley Resort near Nainital. We were awed to see this Country themed cottage situated in the middle of untouched natural beauty. From gurgling sreams, to peeping monkeys and glorius sunshine, this place had it all. A vast expanse of property situated in the middle of the hills, it had a separate area for sitting in the sun and chatting and enjoying your drinks and a separate dining area where a 7-Course Continental/Italian meal awaited you. Although, we gobbled up most of it before we had the time to take pictures, I did manage to capture some of the hearty goodness.

What I loved the most about the place was that the owners did not have a schedule and there was no rush. You could sit and enjoy the nature for as long as you wanted and then indulge in a relaxed, lesiurely meal. The country style drapes and kitschy decor at this homestay just stole my heart away with its careful randomness. I hope the pictures capture a little bit of the whimsicalness of day.

Indian Kitsch with Manish Arora

I am sure y'all must have noted the sudden influx of a lot of Indian Wear on my blog. One of the perks of being married means you have double the occasions to dress up in all your beautiful ethnic clothes that you would have never had the chance to wear otherwise.

I wore this outfit to an engagement party in the morning. The vibrant colors and beautiful embroidery portrays what my style quintessentially is.And,even though it looks heavy,it is super-light to wear which is always a plus in the Indian weather. If you ever do get the chance, definitely pop into Indian by Manish Arora for some for stunning, colorful and quite affordable Indian Wear.

Bag Lust Revisited

A little over a year ago I did a post called Bagabond in which I listed my new found fascination with designer bags.I couldn't have imagined then that I would so soon I would go from having no designer bags to something of a starter collection.I have listed below all the bags that I now currently own and love and hope to curate over the years.

The first designer purchase was also the smallest.I got this beautiful golden wallet from a Michael Kors outlet mall for a steal.Needless to say it was my first visit to an outlet mall and I couldn't resist!
I love the versatility of this with Indian and western wear.It easily substitutes as a clutch at parties and at weddings!

Thus bag and wallet set probably the most used of all my bags.It is very roomy with just the right amount of compartments and is perfect for daily use.It goes with almost everything I wear and fits in the small wardrobe that I tend to carry in my bag!

Oh if I could,I would literally buy every single bag Kate Spade makes.I love the yummy colors and trendy designs they have. The brand reflects my personal style to a T! This bag is the most recent one I bought and is the perfect travel bag and surprisingly sturdy! I use to carry my laptop AND my Ipad! Also,I love the color.I think every girl should have a gorgeous Red Bag in her closet. You know,Just because.

This bag is definitely the most expensive accessory I own.I would not have bought it if I did not think it was an investment piece.I am yet to take it out since I am too scared of damaging it but I don;t have to worry.I don't think it is going out of style anytime soon!

I got this as a wedding gift from some family friends and boy am I glad!I love love love white bags even though I would never buy it for myself since it is destined to stain. As a proof of how much I adore it,It already has a few love marks.Clumsiness permitting,I hope to stretch it out for a couple of years more.

French Reveries

I came back from my holiday in France and Switzerland completely relaxed but also thoroughly spent.Does that seem too contradictory? We went in a huge group of 12 to France which became even bigger by the time we reached Switzerland. The trip was fun yet chaotic and rushed which was not really the relaxed holiday I had been craving for.And we had a bit of tourist mishaps in France which I'd rather not write home about. But not to sound to whiny and ungrateful,I did see some stunning locales and monuments, ate a LOT of yummy food, sipped some delicious wine, shopped to my heart's content and checked The Eiffel off my bucket list which made me a very, very happy girl.
I wore the outfit below on a day trip to Eze and Monte Carlo. The two places were as different from the other as could be.Eze was a charming medieval style French Village with small lanes and quaint shops and cafes. There is a chapel near the top built in the 1300's with beautiful art and a very serene feel to it.The garden at the top is supposed to have stunning views but was already shut by the time we arrived.
On the other hand,Monte Carlo was glamorous and home to The Formula One Circuit and the famous Casino.Several James Bond movies have been filmed at the Casino and it gained popularity because of the royal family. The town breathes extravagance and luxury.Hence,it was very hard to dress for both at the same time. This dress and shoes are the most comfortable formal things I own.I can skip and hop in these without getting a shoe-bite and yet look pretty which is exactly what I needed.I also am in love with the tiny bow details along the back. This was the perfect day to evening look that I had hoped to achieve.:)

Bag-A-Bond

For the longest time,I was notr a branded bag and shoes kind of girl.My costliest bag was a  Rs.3500($70) worth Gayatri Chopra clutch I had purchased during an exhibition 2 years back which I still use and love.During college expensive bags seemed like a frivolous expense and anyway no one I knew cared much about them even though it was a design school. We barely managed to get up and reach on time after the long nights and busy days. However, over the years,I have developed an appreciation and love for certain brands of bags.Even though the miser in me still reels at some of the prices,There are a few I've been coveting for a few years now that are well worth the price. Here are 5 bags I hope to buy within the next couple of years!

The Louis Vuitton Speedy Monogram 30
This LV Bag is easily the most recognizable bag of all time. And there is a good reason for it.It's a classic design which is perfect for day or work and even an occasional date night!Priced at $895,It is a luzury bag without breaking the bank. It's available in 4 sizes though I like the 30 best as it is neither too big nor too small.Just the perfect size for a dump-all like me!I have a fascination for top handles and absolutely LOVE the shape of it.This one is on my first on my list of things to buy!Let's hope you guys will see me using it soon!

The Coach Legacy Colorblock Leather Molly Satchel
This bag has everything that I love in bags. The moment I saw it,I knew that it was so ME!
Stunning Colors.Top handle and sling.Metal Zip.Boho Tassels.Fabulously Roomy.
What more could a girl want!Unfortunately,Currently it's sold out online.I hope there's one available in stores somewhere.
Price:$498

Malaga 'El Dorado' Clutch
I've seen clutches from all brands all over the world and somehow none are as pretty as the ones we do in India. This clutch is one I would love to have for my trousseau. It goes perfectly with Indian and Western clothes. It is bling enough without being blinding. The stones are so mesmerizing I could admire them all day!
I'm not sure about the price but this collection retails for around Rs.15000($278) approx as far as I know.

A Jump From Paper 2D Bag
The first time I saw this bag,I thought that it was an illustration! And I'm sure that I am not the first one to think that.Although, this is not really a High-End Designer Bag or even overpriced,This is definitely a Major Statement Bag!My obsession with quirk is fulfilled with this one.:)
Available at Jumpfrompaper.com for $99

The first bag I ever truly lusted after and can you really blame me?
Cambridge Satchel Company makes handcrafted leather satchels in the most gorgeous colours. And their Neon Range is definitely on the top of my lust list for bags.Methinks Pink for me...Which one would you choose?
Price: $180 approx for a 13"

I hope you enjoyed reading about my Bag-a-Bonds!Do you have any bags that you've been coveting?
What's your dream bag?
