10 Stylish Ways to Stay Warm this Winter with StyleWe

If you're brave enough to venture into the Boxing Day ring, this list of winter essentials might help you roll with the punches. StyleWe and A Mug Full of Style bring you the hottest trends for this winter season.

This is a great outerwear style for the in-between weather. Get a cape jacket to wear in a bold print to wear as a stement piece this winter.

A cold shoulder shows just enough skin to look sexy without freezing yourself. You can pait it with leggings for a casual day in or tuck it into a pencil skirt for a night out.

Gone are the days when a down jacket made you look like a shapeless sleeping bag. A long down jacket in an interesting colour is anything but boring.

A fuzzy sweater in a jewel or pastel just screams diva without compromising on style. You'll feel like you're curled up in a cozy blanket all day long.

A pair of essential black leggings is a must-have for every fashionista. It hides all your trouble spots and you can dress them up or down as you wish.

This trench coat with butterfly patches combines two of the best winter trends. Invest in a classic army green trench and you can pin removable patches of your choice onto it.

This is a perfect dress to make a statement this holiday season. Accentuate your toned shoulders and hide the problem areas with the an off-shoulder, shift style dress

Velvet is everywhere this season. This twisted velvet top reeks luxe and class when combined with a basic skirt or pant.

A sweater tunic is perfect for work or play. Play with a basic colour by adding on interesting accessories and pleather leggings.

The nineties favourite makes a comeback! Create this look yourself by pairing your favourite holiday dress with a turtleneck or by one like this which does the job for you.

You can get any of these independent designer winter looks at StyleWe on their website or by following them on Our Twitter. StyleWe also carries a gorgeous range of summerwear like dresses, shorts and bikini for your winter getaway.

7 Ways to Wear Pallazo's for the Short Girl !

One of the questions I get asked most frequently at my store is if a Palazzo will look on them.Even though the Palazzo trend is huge right now in the Indian Fashion Scene, A lot of girls are reluctant to try them as they have a misconception that it will make them look short or fat. Palazzo's can be worn by anybody and when worn the right way.it can actually make you look even slimmer!

This style is especially great for the pear shaped Indian Woman if not too wide. Pallazo's take the stress away from your hips and thighs by not clinging to it but flowing gracefully towards your ankles. Here are some of my tips on how short girls should style their palazzos.

1.PAIR IT WITH A CROP TOP

It gives the illusion of height but cutting the top part of your body into half.

2.TUCK IT IN.

If crop tops aren't really your thing.Tuck a loose tee in!
It gives the same look.

3.GO MONOTONE.

One of the basics of looking taller is to wear the same color on your top and bottom!

4.PAIR IT WITH WEDGE HEELS.

Because with palazzo's  you can't really see what's beneath them.It could be 1" heels or they could be skyscrapers.

5.CROP IT TO ANKLE LENGTH

Not a culotte yet not really a palazzo.I don't know why.I just feel they work.

6.GO FOR A SLIGHTLY SLIMMER LEG

A slimmer leg is much more flattering for a shorter height. Also,it is so much more slimming!

7.WORK IT LIKE A BOSS.

And last of all.Ditch the rules and carry the look with all the confidence you have in you!

Check out how I styled my palazzo's here.
Also,I would love to know how you styled your palazzo pants!Let me know in the comments below!

So,go out and buy those pair of palazzos you've been lusting after now.And check out some amazing designs at Amazon.in!

Nautical Style with a Twist

Every once in a while,I yearn for the sun, sand and the sea. But,since I cannot really go to work in my Boardwalk Shorts,I resort to the next best thing.Nautical Stripes.

The key to wearing nautical stripes is to pair it with a nice solid colour.I chose a white and played it up with colorful accessories but it looks amazing with a pop of classic red or yellow too! Then add some chunky goodness somewhere and you are good to go sail the seas.Of people. In my case.

But if you are heading for the real sea.I just want you to know that I'm very jealous. You stole my daydreams.

Colours of Cape Town

One of the places we went to while sightseeing in Cape Town was to Bo-Kaap or the Malaysian Quarters. Now this place must be familiar to all of you.The colourful buildings of the street has been a backdrop to a countless bollywood songs and has even inspired it's very own film set back home.I wished we had more time to spend here to experience more of the culture of the place( and the yummy-looking Malay coffee place we passed ),but sadly that was not to be.I did however manage to get some quick shots clicked in all of the 20 minutes we got to spend taking in the sights.

The bag I am carrying is my new favorite bag.It is roomy and easy on the shoulders and I love it and I'm carrying it everywhere now.I bought it at the souvenir shops outside the Seal Island dock.Supposed to be the cheapest souvenir shopping according to our guide. But I am sure I was still very willingly ripped off like the gullible tourist that I am. :D

The Bridal Files: Youngsters

I would like to excuse myself by saying that my recent nuptials were the reason that I have been AWOL...But really I was mostly being lazy and procrastinating. But I'm back now! And better late than never right?

I now have a truckload of pictures to share thanks to my wedding.Nothing like a wedding to make you a complete narcissist.I do not however have too many pictures of my outfit for the youngsters party.Mostly because we spent half the time getting couple shots clicked and the other half well,I can't really publish. It was a cocktail party after all.

I bought my dress from my trip to Europe last summer.I had figured I could easily find a romantic, long dress in Paris,Right? Wrong! Everything I found in Paris was either too expensive and if it fit my budget then too simple.I wanted a dress that would be comfortable enough to dance in but still look dressy and classy.I finally found this dress at a store in Zurich called Modissa. If you are ever in this town, you MUST visit this shop.It is four floors of design goodness! The top floor was dedicated to cocktail dresses and that was where I found this beauty.Infact,I liked so many of their clothes that I felt like I was in Candyland. The rest of the floors had their inhouse label and some well-known international designers as well. They even had a bridal section which was by appointment. They also did my alteration in 2 days which more than what I could have asked for!

I had a Hawaiian Luau themed cocktail party for all of my friends and cousins. It was a pleasantly chilly Kolkata winter evening at the rooftop of a city bar.We handed out these floral leis and Hawaiian slippers (For tired high heeled feet:Thank you Pinterest!) as favours and had tons of fun posing at the photo booth.Fruity cocktails and finger food set the perfect mood for an amazing evening!

I've got the 'Blues'

One of the quirks I have while travelling is collecting hotel key cards.I didn't really start doing it intentionally but because of my habit of dumping things and losing them in the pit of my travel bag...I somehow always ended up with one back home. After we came back, those key cards made great souvenirs. They were easy to store, long lasting, brought back some wonderful memories of the places we'd seen and free! The hotels I stay in are one of the most important thing during my holidays.I research for weeks before settling on one I like. So,I was very upset with the hotels in France as NONE of them had any tea/coffee machines. Now for someone who survives on coffee and has cravings at odd hours of night for a cuppa this was very disconcerting. It had never even occurred to us that the 4-5 star properties we stayed in wouldn't have even the basic of these amenities and so we were not carrying any of the sachets and I was forced to buy one takeaway every night after dinner. The cherry on top of my horrible hotel experience was the burglary which happened in my room in Paris! All of our electronics were stolen from our room when we were down for breakfast!Although after several threats and a police complaint the hotel agreed to refund the amount of the stolen items...the whole incident was a huge dampener on the fun. Anyhoo,I still kept the card key.A memory is a memory!

Find your Inner Gatsby Woman!

If you've gone to see this movie over the last few weeks,You will have to agree that it was the costumes that brought Baz Luhmann's version of The Great Gatsby to life.It wasn't very true to age and in some of the costumes they took use of a fair share of Artistic License. But,they were what gave the essence to the characters even if they were over the top. After all,It was the Age of Excess wasn't it? And it was as glamorous as it could be.A brilliant collaboration between Miuccia Prada and Catherine Martin(Luhrmann's wife and Production Designer) resulted in the most opulent, sparkling and colorful ode to the Art Deco and  Jazz Age.It may not exactly be by the book,But I feel it was very descriptive of the characters.

You Are Daisy Buchanan:You are a classic beauty.Beautiful to the point of giving an almost angelic vibe. You are innocent, sophisticated and very glamorous. You are most comfortable in dainty, girly dress intricately embroidered with lace, pearls or crystals. You love your bling and are habituated to a life of luxury. However, inspite of your innocence, there is a subtle sensuality to your look that is extremely irresistable. You mostly prefer pastels and whites in your colour palette. You wear almost nude, luminous makeup.
Daisy Buchannan

You are Jordan Baker:You are athletic, independent and confident. You are used to getting what you want even if it involves bending the truth a little. You give out an almost icy vibe when people meet you for the first time but are not really as cold as it seems once they get to know you.You prefer structured clothing which is slightly on the androgynous side like jumpsuits, shifts and fitted maxis. You like to dress up in neutral shades like black, cream, beige and blue with hints of embellishment. You like the smokey eye and nude lips look to make an impact.

Jordan Baker

You are Myrtle Wilson:You are sensuous, bold and full of life. You are voluptuous and not afraid to show it. Femininity and sexuality is very visible in the way you dress.Although attractive, you can sometimes be coarse and direct. You are very passionate and expressive about the way you feel which is why you don't sometimes think of the consequences of your actions. You like to wear fitted and feminine dresses that show your hourglass figure to the best advantage. You compensate the lack of embellishment with frills and ruffles and love corsets and low necklines. You prefer bold colours like red, yellows and pinks and floral and polka prints. You love makeup and the highlight of your face are your bold, red lips.

Summer Lovin'

Hello Lovelies! There has been so much going on with me that blogging had taken a temporary backseat the last last month. To summarize the reasons; A holiday(Delhi-Jaipur),2 family weddings and a mammoth amount of orders because of the two weddings. In the meantime I won not one but TWO extremely awesome giveaways.A 30 minute blissful massage at Four Fountains Spa courtesy Varsha of Warflower and an extremely gorgeous leather clutch courtesy Eshna of All Things Desirable.Thank you so much guys!

And then before I could blink,it was summer.I Hate Summer.I really do.I get extremely grumpy with the sun blazing down and the Kolkata humidity draining out every ounce of moisture from my body. However,Since it is better to look at the glass half full(And we need a lot of chilled glasses right now!),There are a few things I could concede to enjoy about the season.

1)Summer Clothes:Barney said it right:Sundress up! There is so much to love about summer clothing and so much to experiment with.Shorts,Skirts and tees.Summer definitely has the best of the lot.

2)Is there anything better than a chilled Gola (Shaved Ice) on a hot summer day?

3)Swimming:The ONLY Sport I enjoy.Even though, the club pool I go to is nowhere near as gorgeous as this,Everytime I go swimming I feel like I'm on a mini vacation.

4)Summer Colors:Just looking at summer colors makes me feel refreshed.Pastels,Neon and White can soothe the most sunburned mind.

5)The first monsoon after a sweltering summer. The smell of grass and earth.Splashing around in the rain puddles.:)

6)Summer is the perfect excuse to procrastinate. You can crib as much as you like and no one can blame you.Because it is too bloody hot to do anything!

7)Florals:They're everywhere-Clothes,Accessories,Shoes and ofcourse,in Nature!

8)You can never click a bad picture on a summer day.Unless you squint. There is no better lighting than sunlight.Everything just looks so bright and lively even if you're sweating like a pig!

9)Summer Hair:Even though I'm not very good at hairstyles,I love tied up hair.Braids,A messy updo or a puffed ponytail and some really stylish ways to beat the heat.

10)And last but definitely everyones favorite!Summer Holidays-In school we loved it because of the vacations and now I love it because we take an overseas vacation every summer. This June I'm heading off to Switzerland-Paris and am SUPER excited. If any of you have been there,do let me know your travel tips!

What are your plans for the summer?
